Mission Bay, one of the trendiest up-and-coming places to live in San Francisco today, was created in 1998 by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors as a redevelopment project. Much of its land used to be a rail yard of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company. It is bound by Townsend St on the north, 3rd St along with San Francisco Bay on the east, Mariposa St on the south and 7th St along with I-280 on the west.

The Vibe:

Mission Bay has rapidly evolved and is still evolving into an affluent neighborhood. Luxury condominiums are a staple. Views of the Bay coupled with city views provide an amazing backdrop to this real estate district.

Walk Score & Getting Around

MUNI light-rail and bus lines going various directions route through here. BART and Caltrain stations are not too far away and Mission Bay has its own shuttle to BART. Owning a car is viable as the neighborhood has tons of hourly parking and the newer, luxury condominium complexes have their own garages.

Restaurants and Local Businesses

High-end restaurants and retail stores line up this neighborhood along with biotechnology research and development office buildings.

Our Take:

Mission Bay is up-and-coming but that doesn’t mean it hasn't arrived. Recommended for empty nesters, professionals and small families. You’ll love the views as well as the accessibility.
